Significant product approval for Peikko: French ATEx for DELTABEAM® composite beam

Peikko Group, a leading global supplier of concrete connections, composite structures, and wind energy applications, has received ATEx (Appréciation Technique d'Expérimentation), an approval for its DELTABEAM® composite beam from CSTB, the French Scientific and Technical Center for Buildings.

ATEx is a favorable, official expert opinion for the use of the DELTABEAM® product by the French authorities, and it simplifies the use of the product, as with this documentation, the construction project control authorities accept the use of DELTABEAM® without delay and further questions. The process of receiving the approval took several years, and it was possible thanks to the experience and technical engineering skills of the French Peikko team.

“The new ATEx approval opens up great business opportunities for the coming years for Peikko’s DELTABEAM®. ATEx is a major industrial milestone, since it facilitates the entry of slim-floor technology systems into France, and supports the use of hollow-core slabs. Peikko France SAS currently consists of team members located both in Paris and in Grenoble, and with the help of this approval, Peikko expects to grow considerably in the coming years in France. The approval will also have significance in some areas outside France, due to the reputation of CSTB,” says Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation.

DELTABEAM® is Peikko’s composite slim-floor system for multi-storey buildings of any kind. It allows flexibility for layout changes throughout the service life of the building, and enables easy HVAC installations. With the use of DELTABEAM® the depth of the whole structure can be reduced, which means savings in construction time and costs as well as in heating and cooling costs. DELTABEAM® enables different kinds of cantilevers and architecturally challenging façade solutions without the use of in-situ casting.
