Special construction for large loads and spans.

This project involved roofing over the highway in the St. Fiden area, extending the Rosenberg tunnel by around 180 metres. The newly gained space was used to create an urban connection between the Olma site and the neighbouring district. The project not only contributed to the expansion of the trade fair infrastructure, but also improved the quality of life through noise protection and new utilisation possibilities on the surface.

Due to the high loads, the large spans and the restrictions on the construction height, special constructions were required for the punching shear problem. The engineering company WaltGalmarini AG from Zurich developed a special solution for this, which was produced and supplied by Peikko. This involved CUBO column cabs in combination with the MODIX® rebar coupler system. Special feature: S460 structural steel.
